ABOUT US

Established at the end of October 2019, Nuovo SEFIR is an association which refers to the twenty-year experience of a pre-existing SEFIR research area ended on 31 December 2018.

The Italian acronym SEFIR stands for "Science and faith on the interpretation of reality". In fact the association intends « to coagulate an interdisciplinary group of qualified scholars who, under their own responsibility, express assessments on significant aspects of contemporary reality, bringing together their scientific skills and a certain wisdom of life gained from centuries-old traditions of humanity, religious or otherwise, primarily Christianity » (from article 2 of the Statute).

The members and other friends of the association are mainly scholars of formal and natural sciences, engineering, philosophy and theology. They are people who mostly carry out their work in universities and research institutions, both public and private. Some are very well established, some are younger. Some are Christians, some are not. The need to cultivate a lever of young researchers receptive to the dialogue between science and other dimensions of human experience is particularly felt.
